摘要: An apparatus for photodetachment studies on atomic and molecular negative ions of medium up to heavy mass (M ≃ 500) has been designed constructed. Laser ion beams are merged in the a collinear geometry atoms, neutral molecules detected forward direction. The optical design components used optimize resolution transmission through extended field-free interaction region described. A 90° sector field magnet with 50 cm bending radius combination two slits is dispersion providing M/ΔM≅800 M/ΔM≅400 ions. difference attributed different energy distributions sputtered With 1 mm slits, from source final detector was determined be about 0.14%.
