摘要: BACKGROUND Previous studies have demonstrated that platelets play an important role in growth, invasion, and angiogenesis of a variety tumors. Nevertheless, the prognostic platelet indices hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) has not been explored. The aim this study was to explore association between prognosis HCC. METHOD A total 260 patients with HCC January 2009 December 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. optimal distribution width (PDW) cutoff value is identified by receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC) curve. relationship PDW clinicopathological features assessed. effects assessed using Kaplan-Meier method Cox regression model. RESULT Elevated level significantly associated portal hypertension, vascular Child-Pugh grade. In addition, survival indicates high levels worse than low (P< 0.001). Multivariate analysis as independent factor (hazard ratio: 4.460, 95% confidence interval: 2.308-8.619, P< CONCLUSION may be novel marker for predicting HCC, but further research needed validate our conclusions.
