摘要: A silver staining method is described for detecting subnanogram amounts of DNA and RNA on polyacrylamide agarose gels. The key step increased sensitivity linearity an initial soaking the gel in a 0.1% solution cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB). Agarose-containing gels can be stained after treatment with formaldehyde. methods are comparatively rapid, extremely sensitive (≅ 150 pg DNA) inexpensive (0.4 g AgNo per 25 ml slab volume).
