摘要: Background: Discharge against medical advice (DAMA) is a relatively common problem worldwide. We sought to determine the prevalence of and reasons for DAMA among inpatients our cardiac center. Methods: From total 20289 discharges from teaching hospital, 992 (4.9%) patients at minimum age 18 years were cases DAMA. After excluding 49 due missing data, we retrospectively analyzed prospectively collected data 943 patients, who cases. Patients' characteristics, including demographic details, reason discharge, insurance status, length stay before examined. Results: The mean study was 60.7 ± 13.0 (range, 18-94 years) with male-to-female ratio 2.1/1. Lack consent surgery or other invasive procedures cited in 31% followed by personal family issues (17%). No reported 26 (2.8%) patients. Women compared men more likely cite "lack procedures" as (p value = 0.005), whereas prevalently stated "personal issues" (18.7% vs. 12.7%, p 0.022). Conclusion: most frequent self-reported lack procedures. This may be because fear undergoing such revascularization. Explaining stages given procedure comparing its risks versus benefits lessen impulsive decision- making
