摘要: Objective: A case of Stage IIA primary ovarian leiomyosarcoma (LMS) with an unfavorable outcome 24 months after total abdominal hysterectomy bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy, despite chemotherapy treatment, is described. Eighteen from surgery the patient showed peritoneal spreading ascites, liver and lung metastases. The present study was aimed to compare tumor growth fraction cell density, lesion stage clinical course. Methods: surgical specimens were evaluated by histological, histochemical, immunocytochemical methods. Under microscopy, mitotic index (MI) estimated, as a ratio figures per 1,000 cells. Immunohistology also carried out reveal some intermediate-type filamentous proteins, histogenetic markers, MIB 1 monoclonal antibody used assess percent -positive nuclei (MIB labeling index). Results: histologic findings immunohistology assayed intermediate proteins substantiated diagnosis LMS, associated coagulation necrosis not rare figures. dual component observed, representing both pleomorphic myxoid LMS-variants. On basis quantitative findings, MI 10.9 MIB1-LI 23.1 calculated, on average. Conclusions: proliferation indices in described variant denote fast growing malignancy. They agree at operation subsequent fatal outcome.
