摘要: Abstract Objectives This study sought to determine the effects of direct exposure x-ray film speed and background density on observer assessment endodontic working lengths perceived radiographic image quality. Study design A human cadaver maxilla section with surrounding soft tissues was used for study. The canal length apex determined 4 canals in maxillary posterior teeth by using Trophy RVG images adjusting position a No. 15 file each until tip coincided made at 3 different vertical angulations. files were measured micrometer from stop obtain apex. Then 10 placed varying short this previously length, 5 observers assessed distance radiographs Kodak D-, E-, F-speed Flow D- E-speed films that exposed produce densities 1.5, 2.0, 3.0. Subjective appraisal quality also assessed. Results Analysis variance Tukey honestly significantly post-hoc analysis results concerning measurement errors type revealed less error Ektaspeed Plus (E-speed) intraoral than InSight (F-speed) E; however, no difference detected among (E-speed), Ultra-Speed (D-speed), D. Films optical 3.0 received 98% favorable ratings; 2.0 77% those 1.5 only 18% ratings 95% confidence level. D most ratings, but there statistically significant other types Conclusions Underexposed are as inferior slightly overexposed regardless used. Current appear be accurate accepted determining lengths. Image should kept constant when making comparisons films.
