摘要: An extensive debate concerning the origin and taxonomic status of wolf-like canids in North American Great Lakes region consequences for conservation politics regarding these enigmatic predators is ongoing. Using maternally, paternally biparentally inherited molecular markers, we demonstrate that wolves are a unique population or ecotype gray wolves. Furthermore, show experienced high degrees ancient recent introgression coyote western wolf mtDNA Y-chromosome haplotypes, demographic bottleneck caused by persecution habitat depletion early 1900s not reflected genetic data.
