摘要: Aims To compare clinicopathological and immunohistochemical features of polypoid endometriosis (PE) non-polypoid (NPE). Methods results Fifteen cases PE 20 NPE were assessed. All stained immunohistochemically for CD10 p16 the proportion p16-positive stromal epithelial cells was estimated. On review, 10 resembled histologically but occurred at mucosal or serosal surfaces, within cyst cavities, that permitted polyp formation. These had a similar age distribution profile to NPE. The remaining five showed histological similarity eutopic endometrial polyps; these in older patients, significantly greater immunoreactivity. Conclusions There are two main subgroups PE. majority this series NPE, involved anatomical sites facilitated exophytic growth. polyps immunophenotypically they patients. findings suggest such lesions ‘true’ sharing pathogenetic relationship with arising endometrium.
