Superior Performance of Dye-Sensitized versus Conventional TiO2 Nanoparticles for Promoting Germination and early Growth of Barley: From Photovoltaic to Biotechnological Application

摘要: TiO2 nanoparticle is one of the most fascinating materials for stimulating germination and growth various seeds. However, low capacity these in absorbing sunlight a challenging issue which should be taken into consideration. Sensitization nanoparticles already common strategy improving its visible light absorption it mainly used dye-sensitized solar cells. In this study, set experiments were conducted to investigate influences on barley seeds (Hordeum vulgare L.). Fluorescein was as sensitizer with high extinction coefficient regions. It shown that different parameters including seedling fresh dry weights, root shoot lengths, chlorophyll-a, chlorophyll-b increased by 59.2% 85.7%, 330%, 100%, 45% 50% relative control, respectively. Moreover, results confirmed do not have any negative influence are beneficial increasing vigor index I.
