摘要: The invention provides a system which monitors and controls upstream path congestion by utilizing MAC layer protocol wherein an communication cell is transmitted from settop box to the headend. contains message field retry count. count incremented upon failure of each attempt communicate with headend within path. A downstream terminals acknowledgment optional power control field. Upstream monitored through averaging or other suitable monitoring all data arrives network terminals.
