摘要: Ever since the introduction of EU’s four freedoms, EU citizens have been promised freedom to move freely within confines EU. As population expanded through enlargement, in conjunction with growing pressure on labor market, wages and employment, European public attitudes toward immigration seem become more polarized. Thus, immigration, especially that admittance non-EU thirdcountry nationals, may be rendered as a highly contested issue Europe’s two-level systems. However, what is happening inside EU, terms intra-EU rarely considered such contestation. This paper plans address this by using historical institutionalist approach analyzing scholarly claims regarding securitization vis-a-vis development policies approaches, well role citizenship plays immigration. way, fuller understanding overall unfavorable attitude could achieved.
