Spectroscopic properties and energy transfers in Tm3+ singly- and doubly-doped glasses

摘要: Abstract Spectroscopic measurements and analysis of energy transfer processes for Tm3+ singly- Tm 3+ Ho doubly-doped glasses pumped with 790 nm diode laser have been performed. The emission cross-sections the net gain determined from measured absorption spectra both ions on basis principle reciprocity. singly-doped fluorozircoaluminate glass, which has a higher fluorescence efficiency at 1.82 μm longer upper state lifetime, is material suitable compared oxide glasses. quantum Ho3+ 5I75I8 2.05 glass dominated by three processes: Tm3+Tm3+ cross-relaxation, Tm3+Ho3+ transfer, upconversion. first process allows pumping to approach 2, second one contributes population 5I7 level, while final gives rise sublinear increase in pump power. Optimum doping levels performance are easily predicted based spectroscopic found be 2–8Tm3+ (1020/cm3) 2–8Tm3+/0.3–1Ho3+ Tm3+/Ho3+ systems, respectively.
