摘要: Commercial landings of dusky flathead (Platycephalus fuscus) from four estuaries in New South Wales (NSW), Australia, were sampled for data on sex, length and age composition between February July each year 2-3 years 1995 1997. Landings primarily contained female fish, ranging 55% to 93% by number different estuaries. Flathead commercial catches ranged 30 cm 96 total (TL), but the majority 33-50 TL. Fish >40 TL male fish >45 uncommon. The differed gillnets mesh sizes, with average being least smallest allowed size 70 mm. aged otolith interpretation analysis marginal increments indicated that one opaque translucent growth zone was formed year; deposited June-August (winter) first observed September-October (spring). included 2-11+ years, 2-4+ dominated all mortality estuary estimated catch curve relatively high, 0.45 1.64. indicate may be heavily exploited NSW.
