摘要: Purpose To compare, in a prospective, randomized manner, the sugar tong splint with short-arm radial gutter terms of patient satisfaction and ability to maintain reduction distal radius fractures. Methods A total 118 patients displaced fractures were enrolled; 85 (85 fractures) available for follow-up evaluation included study population. There 26 men 59 women mean age 64 years. Thirty-eight immobilized 47 splint. Forty had stable pattern 45 an unstable fracture pattern. The initial examination occurred 8 days after application. Results 33 showed loss at evaluation. Sixteen 38 displaced, whereas displacement was seen 17 splint; this difference not significant. When constructs evaluated based on stability no differences found between splints' both Patients group significantly better Disabilities Arm, Shoulder, Hand scores than those whose Conclusions Both comparable performance maintaining fractures, tolerated by patients. Based our we recommend use immobilization Type study/level evidence Prognostic, level II.
