摘要: We investigated the efficacies and potencies of two commercial preparations botulinum neurotoxin type A (BoNt/A) reputed to differ in potency. Tests were conducted vitro using mouse phrenic nerve-hemidiaphragm which is an approved tool for measuring clostridial toxicity. In addition, a double-blind trial on volunteers, varying amounts one product injected into Musculus extensor digitorum brevis left foot, while equal amounts, i.e. units, other preparation same muscle right foot. Compound action potentials (CMAPs) recorded before at various points time after injections. As opposed wide-spread anecdotal reports, no difference effectiveness was found. The dose-response curves obtained from organ with both products equalled another potency (number units) corresponded previous toxicity tests mice elsewhere. Dose-response volunteers also identical preparations. course paralysis recovery function did not either. At lower concentrations toxin, however, restoration more rapid than higher concentrations. Since results man animal are excellent accord, we conclude that 1 unit Botox corresponds 1unit Dysport.
