Paraneoplastic disorders of the central nervous system: update on diagnostic criteria and treatment.

摘要: Although the discovery of antineuronal antibodies has facilitated diagnosis paraneoplastic neurological disorders (PNDs), recognition and treatment these remain a challenge. Some have more syndrome-specific association than others, some syndromes evoke etiology frequently others. Because may occur in cancer patients without PND, their detection does not necessarily imply that disorder is paraneoplastic. This review analyzes issues suggests diagnostic strategy based on criteria derived from clinical immunological findings presence or absence cancer. We provide an update features classic PND central nervous system, with proposal general strategy. In addition, we analyze evidence hypothetically effective antitumor immunity which if confirmed would implications for PND.
