摘要: Abstract Masonry arch structures can be determined by means of a detailed analysis that takes into account the intermediate cracking stage, which place when tensile strength material has been exceeded, even though collapse mechanism not formed yet. Such hypothesis is based on constitutive law returns closer approximation to actual material's behaviour. This paper presents evolutionary for fracturing assessment masonry arches. method allows capturing damaging process occurs linear elastic behaviour's conditions in tension no longer apply, and before achieving limit conditions. Furthermore, way thrust line influenced formation cracks consequent internal stresses redistribution, representing “fracturing benefit”, assessed numerically. Size scale effects are also taken account, as well influence arch's shallowness ratio.
