摘要: Objective Certain drugs used in the treatment of patients with anxiety disorders can interact other psychotropic and pharmacological treatments for physical illnesses. There is a need an updated comparative review clinically relevant drug interactions this area. Design Relevant literature on medications was identified through search MEDLINE EMBASE. Results Drug involving to treat may be pharmacokinetic, such as enzyme inhibition or induction cytochrome P450 system transporter-mediated interactions, pharmacodynamic, additive effects causing drowsiness at neurotransmitter receptors. Certain selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, paroxetine) are particularly liable potentially involved untoward pharmacokinetic interactions. Conclusions The potential should cause clinical concern, elderly individuals. However, liability harmful anticipated, risk reduced. Although not all relevant, careful monitoring response possible essential. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
