摘要: Dietary patterns and subsistence strategies of the early farmers central European Linearbandkeramik culture (LBK) have received much research attention, but only little is known about subsequent Neolithic time periods. In order to address continuity or alterations through time, this study explores bone collagen carbon nitrogen isotope data from Middle cemetery Jechtingen in southwest Germany, attributed ceramic phases Grosgartach, Planig-Friedberg Rossen (4850/4800–4500 BC). The dataset comprises 77 individuals making it most extensive period date. average values adults are −20.6 ± 0.3‰ for δ13C 9.4 0.8‰ δ15N (n = 62) indicating a mixed diet animal plant proteins based on terrestrial C3 ecosystem. There no indication dietary differences due age sex. follow regional trends emerging previously investigated LBK sites. They appear be primarily driven by environmental factors, such as annual precipitation rates. Concerning δ15N, datasets overlap widely, falls well into ranges other published stable do not hint at remarkable changes habits between food-producing communities Neolithic.
