Parenting programs in NSW women’s correctional centres

摘要: This paper provides an overview of parenting services and programs for incarcerated women their children in NSW. These are based on recognition the importance parent/child relationship necessity to support strengthen these relationships withstand negative impact incarceration rigours transition resettlement community. In its Mothers Children’s Policy NSW Department Corrective Services acknowledges that imprisonment is not evidence a mother’s lack desire or ability perform her parental duties recognises addressing children’s separation issues will lessen long-term damage health behaviour. Assisting establishment maintaining between fathers also recognised as important has established relationships.
