摘要: [1] For the past decade, paucity of ionospheric observations has made it almost impossible to reconstruct three-dimensional structures global electron density. The Formosa Satellite-3/Constellation Observing System for Meteorology, Ionosphere and Climate (FORMOSAT-3/COSMIC, F3/C) constellation provided density profiles with high vertical resolution through radio occultation measurements. Slated deployment starting in 2016, FORMOSAT-7/COSMIC-2 (F7/C2) will further provide more than 4 times number F3/C soundings. An observing system simulation experiment is conducted determine impact F7/C2 on weather monitoring. results first show that can 3-D structure a data accumulation period 1 h, which advance studies small spatial/temporal scale variation/signatures ionosphere. Comparing assimilation F3/C, significantly reduces error arising models after assimilating synthetic F7/C2. During this period, averaged root-mean-square percentage about 4.4%, lower 7.3%. Furthermore, even an window less 60 min, RMS errors still yield reliable values compared results. This paper represents major monitoring future mission.
