摘要: Objective : This study was carried out to detect the incidence of erythrocytic Glucose-6-Phosphate dehydrogenase (G-6-PD) deficiency, compare hyperbilirubinernia in G-6-PD deficient neonates as compared normal and asses usefulness neonatal screening for deficiency.Method In a retrospective hospital based 2,479 male female consecutively born at Indraprastha Apollo between July 1998 June 2003 who were screened levels evaluated deficiency. Results Incidence deficiency found be 2.0%. males 283% femle 1.05%. The hyperbilirubinemia 32% which significantly higher than with G-6-PD, 12.3% (P<0.001).Conclusion Our data suggests that is useful test preventing early treatment complications associated it.
