摘要: The body responds to stress through a hormone system called the hypothalamic-pituitaryadrenal (HPA) axis. Stimulation of this results in secretion hormones (i.e., glucocorticoids). Chronic excessive glucocorticoid can have adverse health effects, such as Cushing's syndrome. Alcohol intoxication activates HPA axis and elevated levels. Ironically, levels these may contribute alcohol's pleasurable effects. With chronic alcohol consumption, however, tolerance develop axis-activating well exposure, result premature and/or exaggerated aging. Furthermore, aging process affects person's sensitivity function.
