摘要: The 2-D crustal velocity model along the Hirapur-Mandla DSS profile across Narmada-Son lineament in central India (Murty et al., 1998) has been updated based on analysis of some short and discontinuous seismic wide-angle reflection phases. Three layers, with velocities 6.5–6.7, 6.35–6.40 6.8 km s−1, upper boundaries located approximately at 8, 17 22 depth respectively, have identified between basement (velocity 5.9 s−1) uppermost mantle 7.8 s−1). layer 6.5–6.7 s−1 is thin less than 2-km deep Narmada north (at Katangi) south Jabalpur) faults. crust shows a horst feature these faults, which indicates that zone acts as ridge two pockets mafic intrusion crust. Moho boundary, 40–44 intra-crustal layers exhibit an upwarp suggesting faults origins, involving deep-seated tectonics. A smaller intrusive thickness compared to those beyond suggests activities sides are independent. This further may active different geological times. constrained by gravity modeling. highs either side due effect high velocity/high density level.
