摘要: Background Individuals diagnosed with malignant melanoma face significant practical and psychological challenges, including existential fears pain discomfort associated treatment. To enhance adjustment, patients receive psychosomatic–psychotherapeutic consultation–liaison services (CLS) within the general medical hospital. However, little is known about use of these in routine clinical care. Methods This study includes all referred to CLS a large German tertiary care hospital between 2005 2008 (n = 3658). Data were recorded using CL-BaDo form – multicenter documentation for assessment characteristics delivery. Descriptive inferential statistics employed compare melanomas other dermatological diseases. Results Dermatologists requested more often dermatology than melanoma. These two groups also differed reasons referral: acute coping issues; unexplained physical symptoms. Additionally, latter group was different mental behavioral disorders. Patients received psychotherapeutic interventions while admitted but fewer recommendations further psychosocial treatment after their stay. Conclusion findings highlight need professional support individuals especially when first or experiencing recurrence. play crucial role identifying patients’ needs navigating them toward available services.
