摘要: To determine if dialysis modality may be an independent factor in the level of cognitive function chronic patients, was studied 17 pairs continuous ambulatory peritoneal (CAPD) and center hemodialysis (CHD) subjects matched for sex, age, diabetic status, interval since onset. Data on current metabolic, medical, psychological, vocational status were obtained. Neuropsychological (NP) measures included Number Cancellation Protocol (NCP), Trailmaking test forms A B (TMT A, TMT B), Symbol Digit Modalities (SDM), Rey Auditory Verbal Learning Test (RAVLT). The CAPD subject group had consistently more efficient than CHD group. Regardless modality, groups under age 51 those who vocationally active significantly better NP performance. No differences found categorized by sex or duration dialysis. Creatinine levels highly correlated with scores BUN levels, higher creatinine associated function. Serum calcium, C0 2 , total protein, albumin, SGOT also scores. effective HD reversing uremic encephalopathy mechanisms mostly unrelated to serum levels. Longitudinal studies will needed is degree reversal encephalopathy.
