Stereoelectronic properties of the sulfinyl-substituted phosphine ligands: synthesis and X-ray structure of the stable complex [PdCl2{Ph2PCH2S(O)Me}{MeOH}]

摘要: The square-planar complex trans-[PdCl2{Ph2PCH2S(O)Me}{MeOH}] has been prepared. compound crystallizes as orange-red prisms in the monoclinic space group P21/n, with a = 9.446(2), b 14.858(3), c 13.578(3) A, β 105.08(2)° and Z 4. structure was determined by direct methods refined to R 0.027 Rw 0.041. All atoms including hydrogens were located directly from Fourier difference maps. coordination geometry around palladium is square-planar. metal coordinated two chlorines, oxygen of methanol phosphorus sulfinyl-substituted ligand. In solution, similar assigned NMR studies. contrast previously documented Ph2PCH2CH2S(O)Me analogue, sulfoxide function Ph2PCH2S(O)Me ligand not involved any bondings palladium, both solid state solution.
