摘要: Background— Transthoracic epicardial catheter ablation is an emerging strategy being used clinically at increasing frequency. However, the efficacy of standard RF on surface heart hindered by (1) lack convective cooling electrode and (2) varying presence adipose tissue interposed between target site. This experimental animal study examines biophysical characteristics radiofrequency (RF) lesions generated either or cooled-tip ventricular epicardium. Methods Results— Nonsurgical subxyphoid pericardial access was achieved in 10 normal goats 7 pigs with healed myocardial infarctions.
