摘要: This article discusses the importance of quality deforestation area estimates for reliable and credible REDD+ monitoring reporting. It how countries can make use global spatial tree cover change assessments, but considerable additional efforts are required to translate these into national estimates. The illustrates relevance countries’ continued on improving data by looking at Mexico, Cambodia, Ghana. experience in show differences between areas assessed directly from maps improved sample-based estimates, highlighting significant changes both magnitude trend methods. Forests play an important role achieving goals Paris Agreement, therefore ability accurately measure greenhouse gases forests is critical. Continued needed produce data. Supporting continually increase will also support more efficient allocation finance that rewards results-based payments.
