摘要: Operator interviews and anecdotal evidence suggest that an operator's ability to manage a network decreases as the becomes more complex. However, there is currently no way systematically quantify how complex network's design nor complexity may impact management activities. In this paper, we develop suite of models describe routing configuration in succinct fashion, abstracting away details underlying languages. Our models, metrics arising from them, capture difficulty configuring control data plane behaviors on routers. They also measure inherent reachability constraints implements via its design. simplify by facilitating comparison between alternative designs for network.
