摘要: Abstract The clearance rates (CRs) of the Manila clam, Ruditapes philippinarum Adams et Reeve, were measured for chlorophyll-a (Chl-a) and various potential prey items (bacteria/picocyanobacteria to chain-forming diatoms) at 24 °C in laboratory. clams filtered particles actively 12 out 16 experimental runs. In these runs, soft-body-dry-weight (DW)-specific (CR*s) Chl-a greater than 1.5 dm3 g DW−1 h−1 (average=2.3 h−1) comparable those reported by other groups. Picocyanobacteria (∼1-μm long) larger 2 μm also effectively. However, free-living bacteria (∼0.4-μm only six runs CRs much lower items. ratios CR* each item that Nitzschia spp. (70–80-μm close unity longer μm, which indicates ≥2 are with similar efficiency clam. For picocyanobacteria bacteria, 0.70 0.11, respectively.
