摘要: The processes for oxidation of propylene to acrolein and the acrylic acid in two stages with as an intermediate are improved by use essentially inert anhydrous diluent gases replace steam reaction streams. In particular, diluents which raise composite heat capacity gaas mixture at least about 6.5 calories/(gram-mole) (°C.) will improve selectivity desired products reduce both waste water load on system by-product formation.
