摘要: Abstract Solutions of polystyrene and poly(dimethyl siloxane) in chloroform are compatibilized by the addition a small amount star polymer consisting γ-cyclodextrin core arms. Compatibilization is visually observed when turbid PDMS/PS emulsions become clear upon CD-star molecule. The mechanism compatibilization involves threading CD-core PDMS solubilization resulting “slip-ring graft copolymer” via PS This process breaks up undissolved domains into smaller, more stable micelles. Evidence for found using ROESY 2D-NMR. Intrinsic viscosity measurements solutions show behavior similar to conventional copolymers which form micelles selective solvent. Dynamic light scattering suggest that micelle size approximately 20 nm. effects varying molecular weight, concentration studied.
