摘要: Summary This study aimed to establish whether it was practical perform sciatic nerve block by the anterior approach in a group of children different ages and weights. A total 82 blocks were performed which 78 (95.2%) judged have been successful. The technique differed slightly from that used adult practice, great reliance placed on loss resistance felt as needle point passed through thigh muscles into neurovascular compartment. There no immediate or late complications associated with this any patients. It is concluded easy can produce reliable postoperative analgesia for most common operations foot ankle paediatric practice.
