Seroprevalence of seven zoonotic pathogens in pregnant women from the Caribbean.

摘要: Studies examining the prevalence of zoonotic agents in Caribbean are very limited. The objective this study was to examine seroprevalence seven among individuals residing on 10 English-speaking countries. Sera from healthy, pregnant women were collected Antigua-Barbuda, Belize, Bermuda, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts-Nevis, Lucia, and Vincent-Grenadines tested for presence IgG antibodies dengue virus, hepatitis E hantaviruses, leptospiral agents, spotted fever group rickettsiae (SFGR), typhus (TGR), Coxiella burnetii (Q fever). highest values observed SFGR, leptospirosis, although lowest C. burnetii, TGR. Antibodies hantaviruses not detected any individuals.
