摘要: Individuals with Spina Bifida (SB) have unique lifelong medical and social needs. Thus, when considering how to promote health offer preventive care, providers must adapt general healthcare screening counseling recommendations their patients' physical cognitive impairments along discerning monitor secondary or chronic conditions common the population. This article provides an update on promotion care guidelines developed as part of Association's fourth edition Guidelines for Care People Bifida. The highlight accommodations needed health, secondary/chronic such obesity, metabolic syndrome, hypertension, musculoskeletal pain, considerations preventing acute utilization SB population throughout lifespan. Further research is understand effectiveness interventions in promoting positive outcomes mitigating potentially preventable utilization.
