摘要: A mobile pollutant laboratory was designed at the Paul Scherrer Institut (Switzerland) for measurement of on-road ambient concentrations a large set gas phase compounds and aerosol parameters, along with geographical meteorological information. This approach allowed level measurements both near traffic (e.g. in urban areas or on freeways/main roads) rural locations far away from traffic, within short period time different times day year. Due to high resolution (< 10 s most instruments), local particle background levels exhaust plume number single vehicles could be estimated percentile statistics. For Zurich area, backgrounds 5000-15000 particles per cu.cm were measured, while busy main roads easily reached 30000-50000/cu.cm. In addition this road background, up 300000/cu.cm observed traffic. Particle size distribution showed that daytime air is dominated by ultrafine (nanoparticles) diameters < 50 nm, which are immediately formed thus belong primary emissions. covering abstract see ITRD E122175.
