摘要: Publisher Summary The replication band (RB) of ciliates is unique in cell biology. entire complement nuclear DNA duplicated by a migrating, highly organized structure which can be conveniently studied using variety microscopy techniques. Most other eukaryotic nuclei exhibit hundreds dispersed foci activate at different times during the S-phase. RBs initiate species-distinctive positions within ciliate macronucleus, signaling beginning S-phase, and progress as wave chromatin modification replication, disappears termination Throughout this period migration RB maintains remarkable ultrastructural stratification spanning diameter MAC. These regular fibers disperse junction with rear zone, site synthesis. Condensed reappears distal end RZ. In RB, temporal events synthesis assembly are displayed vectorial fashion. This property forms basis for significant scientific utility; namely, cytochemical immunochemical mapping components events.
