摘要: Abstract A mass balance for 137 Cs was done in Fayetteville Green Lake. 43% of total input found shallow-water (0–18 m) sediments, 16% deep-water varved > 9% the water column, and ∼ 32% remained to be carried away by lake outflow. Shallow-water sedimentary must resuspended and/or dissolved maintain current levels fluxes sediments. activities individual varve-year samples from 1946 1976 followed closely pattern published bomb-fallout records, but varves contained only 28–34% cumulative unit-area fallout this area. In order preserve yearly record sedimentation, pore-water diffusion coefficient −11 cm 2 s −1 . Bioturbation physical mixing these sediments does not occur. Some cores accumulated amounts greater than supplied surface This may due to: (1) horizontal transport surface-water direct absorption; (2) bioconcentration benthic algae mosses, or (3) localized “funnelling”
