Selection in Europeans on Fatty Acid Desaturases Associated with Dietary Changes.

摘要: FADS genes encode fatty acid desaturases that are important for the conversion of short chain polyunsaturated acids (PUFAs) to long acids. Prior studies indicate have been subjected strong positive selection in Africa, South Asia, Greenland, and Europe. By comparing sequencing data from present-day Bronze Age (5-3k years ago) Europeans, we identify possible targets European population, which suggest has targeted different alleles Europe than it Asia or Greenland.
