Functionalization and exfoliation of graphite into mono layer graphene for improved heat dissipation

摘要: Abstract A novel synthesis procedure is presented for preparing single layer graphene (SGr) with high specific surface area (SSA). The SGr has been introduced as a promising additive super conductive nanofluids performance heat transfer applications. Owing to SSA and unique degree of functionalization hydrophilic groups, the demonstrates an excellent colloidal stability thermo-physical properties in aqueous media. Using UV–vis spectrometer, highest dispersion 0.866-relative concentration was reached after 30 days from preparation. Water-based illustrated fairly Newtonian behavior. Nanofluid containing sheets 761 m2/g weight 0.01% showed largest increase thermal conductivity, i.e., 0.748 0.795 W/m K temperature increased 20 50 °C. average coefficient ratio (hnf/hbf)ave downward trend increasing Reynolds number, decreasing 233.5% at Re 2000 only 83.8% 16,000 constant 0.01%. Finally, water-based SGR were shown be dramatically more effective duct backward-facing step terms overall e.g., index pumping power, rheological including viscosity comparison distilled water.
