摘要: The enactment of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act is a signal achievement on road to reform, which arguably began with passage American Recovery Reinvestment 2009. That statute's Health Information Technology for Economic Clinical (HITECH) provisions created an essential foundation restructuring health care delivery achieving key goals improving quality; reducing costs; increasing access through better methods storing, analyzing, sharing information. This article discusses range initiatives under HITECH support including proposed regulations "meaningful use" standards; funding regional extension centers Beacon communities; development use clinical registries linked outcomes research networks, all are critical carrying out comparative effectiveness that will be expanded reform.
