Immunomodulation produced by a green propolis extract on humoral and cellular responses of mice immunized with SuHV-1.

摘要: Despite recent technological advances in vaccine production, most the vaccines depend on association with adjuvant substances. This work evaluated capacity of an ethanol extract green propolis associated to inactivated Suid herpesvirus type 1 (SuHV-1) preparations. Mice inoculated SuHV-1 plus aluminum hydroxide and 5 mg/dose presented higher levels antibodies when compared animals that received same without propolis. The use alone did not induce significant antibodies, however it was able increase cellular immune response, evidenced by expression mRNA IFN-γ. Besides, increased percentage protected against challenge a lethal dose SuHV-1. effect humoral responses may be exploited for development effective vaccines.
