摘要: Abstract Interactions between nutrient and biotic components of phytoplankton in Celestun lagoon, a groundwater-influenced tropical coastal lagoon were studied. Gradients nutrients, chlorophyll a, phaeopigments, production respiration rates estimated from March 1990 to 1991. The inner zone the was strongly affected by groundwater discharges with high concentrations nitrate (35 μmol) soluble reactive silica (400 μmol). seaward characterized salinity ( 9 μmol) ammonia (15 μmol). Seasonal variations showed gradient middle region (20–28 mg m−3) low at both ends during rainy season (5–8 mg m−3). Net primary ranged 0.1 2.2 g C m−3day−1, similar seasonal pattern all stations, peak early smaller secondary ‘nortes’ season. Multivariate analysis carried out order describe different stages nutrient-phytoplankton coupling.
