Applications of satellite data in the study of monsoon variability

摘要: This paper discusses the use of satellite data for studying climate change, with particular emphasis on inter-annual variability Indian southwest monsoon. Precipitation estimates made from INSAT-1B radiance are shown to bring out variations that occurred in monsoon rainfall 1987 and 1988. Outgoing Longwave Radiation derived shows good correspondence precipitation patterns.
