摘要: Magnetically loaded polymeric nano-particles carrying functional groups on their surface were prepared by a two-stage process. In the first stage, super-paramagnetic magnetite (Fe3O4) produced co-precipitation method from aqueous solutions of FeCl2·4H2O and FeCl3·6H2O using NaOH solution. The smallest size obtained was 40.9 nm with poly-dispersity index 0.194 Zeta Sizer. effects Fe2+/Fe3+ molar ratio, stirring rate, temperature, base concentration, pH particle size/size distribution stability dispersions examined. Increasing relative concentration Fe2+ ion decreasing rate increased size, while temperature did not change significantly. Polymer coating achieved emulsion polymerization at high surfactant to monomer ratio methyl methacrylate (MMA) acrylic acid which used as comonomers (comonomer ratio: 90/10 weight) ratio. initiator SDS KPS, respectively. Nano-particles in range 115 300 diameter depending recipe. Fe3O4/monomer surfactant/monomer ratios, KPS caused decrease average diameter. Magnetic properties electron spin resonance vibrating-sample magnetometer. Most polymer-coated exhibited super paramagnetic behavior.
