Androgens and human sexual behaviour.

摘要: Androgens are generally believed to be necessary for normal sexual responsiveness in the human male and female. The evidence this is limited sometimes conflicting. This paper considers from experiments which exogenous androgens given people with impaired response. Results a study testosterone was unresponsive women reported, together preliminary results of giving androstenedione sexually taking oral contraceptives undecanoate hypogonadal males. In first study, when combined counselling, significant effects were produced by addition testosterone. where no counselling given, beneficial androgen have been unusual. Examples evaluation replacement hypogonodal males also presented. Finally, some methodological problems evaluating hormone behaviour briefly discussed.
