摘要: Abstract Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the relation plasma zinc (Zn) status growth and maturation in children with SS genotype sickle cell disease. Study design: A cross-sectional 104 subjects who were 50% female ranged age from 0.4 18 years performed. Measures included Zn concentration (Znp), height, weight, skinfold thicknesses, elbow breadth, upper arm muscle area, fat-free mass fat by total body electrical conductivity. Skeletal assessed hand-wrist x-ray evaluation sexual Tanner stage. Results: 44% patients had low Znp ( 9 years) associated decreased scores for pubic hair (p = 0.001) breast genital 0.009). No significant differences seen age, sex, or stores according status. Conclusions: Decreased is common disease linear growth, skeletal mass, maturation. (J Pediatr 1998;132;467-71)
