摘要: Results are presented of laboratory-scale bearing capacity tests using a 4 in. (100 mm.) square footing on sand reinforced with strips rope fiber material. Each layer reinforcement was arranged in horizontal grids. The addition reinforcements increased the unreinforced soil by factor which depended following: spacings between each layer, vertical layers reinforcement, depths above first footing, and number layers. Depending strip arrangement, ultimate improvement could be up to three times that earth.
