摘要: We investigated avian species richness and abundance within vegetation communities of the Rio Grande Corridor New Mexico during spring, summer, fall 1992 1993. A subset 64 transects, for which all bird variables were available, representing 16 composite community types subjected to canonical correlation analysis investigate relative habitat importance. Generally, higher ranking had cottonwood other native woody as dominants lower those that are highly manipulated and/or monotypic-such mowed river edge, pecan orchards, relatively pure stands saltcedar. Bird occurrence distribution in is not so neatly related composition sometimes characterized. Exotic plant such saltcedar Russian olive, utilized varying degrees by existing community. Ranking use may help direct restoration efforts towards situations where more significant gains can be made.
